The Story On Nori

I have read a lot about the truth behind a package of nori.

Some common adjectives used for Nori Marketing: Kosher, Ocean Plant, Raw, Wholesome, Organic, Superfood, Eco-Cert, Selectively Harvested from Pristine Waters Of Maine, Cold-Processed, Low-Carb, Vegan, Low-Calorie, Fat-Free, Gluten-Free.

6 Reasons to Stop Buying Seaweed

1. Nori cultivation is not vegan in most circumstances. Small sea critters get ground up in the process of making nori papers.

2. If you are avoiding salt, Nori is not something you should eat. The ocean is full of sea salt.

3. Fukushima's nuclear power plant meltdown in March 2011 has since been spewing into the ocean. Massive amounts of dangerous cancer causing radioactive elements like strontium and cesium are prevalent globally, especially in the ocean, not to mention in the air, rain, and soil- lakes, too.

4. What's even more is that seaweed in itself is not a vegetable. Algae, Kelp, Nori, Spirulina, Chlorella, Carageenan, etc. are actually primitive animal cells, and like all other animals, they are oxygen consumers, not providers. It is a survival mechanism that they look like vegetation, it protects them from being devoured by obligate carnivores, fish and mammals.

5. Inevitably, they act as a water filter, consuming bacteria, viruses, heavy metals, halides (like mercury, fluoride, etc...) all pollution from man, accumulating and concentrating these poisons.

6. They also produce hormones, or steroids which manipulate all animal life processes, including yours.
