Met Gala: 2024 ~ Garden of Time

For the costume museum's gala this year, a theme was selected regarding the renovation of old garments, using technology. Also, a story of a count who cut a rose each time his power was questioned by the locals, which magically kept them at bay - until he was left with a roseless garden. A metaphor for greed. Thus, the need to re-use and re-purpose. To my dismay, however, many costumes worn still looked disheveled - the level of restoration was good not enough for me.

There were also a few references to the snake in the Eden story. As well as some pronounced faces within the designs of the apparel, which could be a reference to a clock face, and aging.

I hope you enjoy my list of notable fashions from this year's Met Gala, (I finally caught up.) Now we get to wait for next year's theme, in anticipation for something equally as spectacular. Leave your comments below for your favorite attire.

A-List.

Windowsen ~ Cardi B

This look reminds me of the aftermath of the train derailment in East Palestine, Ohio. (Feb. 3rd '23)

Kinda similar to Sam Smith's outfit choice at the 2023 Brit Awards - an event that took place only 8 days after the catastrophe - kind of like the outfit ~ made from PVC ~ similar to the chemicals recorded to have been spewed into the environment; due to an unnecessary, noxious burn-off of the spilled chemicals. (Ecocide helped in part by the town, but BlackRock was responsible for the derailment.)

Also, it's no coincidence that there was a movie released on Nov. 25th 2022, about a train derailment, filmed in the town of East Palestine, Ohio. This was only 70 days before the actual train derailment. It's called White Noise.

Pat McGrath Labs ~ Doja Cat

Feelin' Herself. The hair symbolizes freedom & the glitter tears; disappointment. The shirt? Female empowerment.

Stella McCartney ~ FKA Twigs

I don't know what she does- but I know her face. This ensemble features some pretty nifty jewelry; notably an anklet, toe rings, belly chain, and belly button ring. Following the silver, ethereal, celestial theme; we have body crystals that accentuate her inner thigh tone: gorgeous.

Dior ~ Jack Harlow

Nice suit, pretty brooch. Sleek, dapper- sharp. 🔪

Givenchy ~ Kendall Jenner

Really cool beaded bronze collar, and shoulder tassels. This pose seems to make her feet disappear. Born November 3, 1995: she's a Scorpio. This dress suits that sign, I think. Check out my Kardashian/Jenner Family Ba Zi post to learn more about Kendall's astrology!

Alexander McQueen ~ Lana Del Rey

A rose-bramble canopy. With only one rose to spare. Is it just me, or does Lana look deranged? Maybe it's a clone.

Luar ~ Lil Nas X

Is he up to something? Only I-I know. Is he 'bout to hit 'em with the high-I note. :) ~ Lil Nas X - J CHRIST

Marni ~ Nicki Minaj

I'm realizing now, that I don't like her wig. Her dress resembles a child's drawing come to life. High fashion? Perhaps. Messy? A tad. The shoes could have stood for some embellishment, as well.

Oscar de la Renta ~ Sabrina Carpenter

America's new obsession, Sabrina Carpenter - songstress of hits such as Espresso, and 'Please, Please, Please' - donning a spirulina stained, whip'. The black velvet bodice contrasts nicely with her overall color schema.

Balmain ~ Tyla

When I first saw this dress, and the subsequent times after, I was just like, "Wow." I still haven't watched any music videos from her, but she's pretty hot, isn't she! I would have never thought to create such a stunning gown- I guess that's what themes are for!
